Current Giro d’Italia maglia rosa holder, Mads Pedersen, is expected to headline the men’s race, as his team, Lidl-Trek, is among the 24 men’s teams lining up for the historic first edition. Pedersen, however, will face fierce competition from sprinting heavyweights such as Kaden Groves, Olav Kooij, Dylan Groenewegen, and fellow Dane Tobias Lund Andresen, with teams such as Alpecin-Deceuninck, Team Visma | Lease a Bike, Team Jayco AlUla, and Team Picnic PostNL confirmed.
The men’s peloton also includes World Tour teams Arkea-B&B Hotels, Bahrain Victorious, Cofidis, Intermarché-Wanty, and Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe, along with 13 leading Pro Teams, including Israel-Premier Tech, Lotto Dstny, Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team, Euskaltel-Euskadi, and Norwegian team Uno-X Mobility, featuring a strong line-up of Danish riders.
Completing the men’s roster is the Danish National Team, with national coach Michael Mørkøv already announcing a powerhouse squad including Danish Champion Rasmus Søjberg, as well as seasoned pros Kasper Asgreen and Casper Pedersen.
While teams have yet to announce their full rider rosters, the race promises an action-packed route starting in Roskilde, passing through North Zealand, and finishing with a spectacular 11 km city circuit in Copenhagen.
On Saturday 21 June, the women’s race will bring together 12 UCI Women’s World Tour teams, alongside four Pro Teams, six Continental teams, and the Danish National Team. Danish stars Emma Norsgaard Bjerg (Lidl-Trek), Alberte Greve, and Rebecca Koerner (Uno-X Mobility) are among the likely contenders, set to battle against a world-class field including sprinters from Team Visma | Lease a Bike, UAE Team ADQ, Team Picnic PostNL, Liv AlUla Jayco, and Team SD Worx-Protime.
Copenhagen Sprint is organised by a national partnership including the City of Copenhagen, the City of Roskilde, the Danish Government, Sport Event Denmark, Wonderful Copenhagen, the Danish Cycling Federation, and the Copenhagen Sprint event organisation.
