Ride Like a Pro: A professional cycling event setup with closed roads, motor cycles for safety and service, great courses and the unique possibility to win the rainbow coloured UCI World Championships jersey. All this and much more are the ingredients in the unique cycling cocktail called UWCT Copenhagen Gran Fondo which takes up the legacy from the UCI World Road Championships in Copenhagen in 2011 and brings together cyclists in the cycling enthusiastic capital of Denmark.
All participants in UWCT Copenhagen Gran Fondo get the chance to Ride Like a Pro in the 28 km Time Trial on May 10 or the 145 km Road Race on May 12 in races that will set new standards for cycling for all races in Denmark.
May 10-12 the UWCT Copenhagen Gran Fondo – a part of the UCI World Cycling Tour – will set new standards for cycling races in Denmark. The sport event organizers YWC Sports will raise the bar in organizing cycling events with the help of Sport Event Denmark, Wonderful Copenhagen, the Danish Police and 11 municipalities and create a ‘cycling for all’ event that has never been seen before in Denmark.
Ride Like a Pro in Denmark
Under the concept ‘Ride Like a Pro’ all cyclists – Danish and international – with the dream to participate in a professional race setup will have the chance in either a 28 km time trial in Elsinore May 10th or in Copenhagen in a 145 km road race May 12.
UWCT Copenhagen Gran Fondo offers professional settings with Ride Like a Pro: There is a very high level of service before, during and after the race, blocked off roads, more than 80 motorcycles on the course for safety and service, Time Trial with start ramp and a lead motorcycle for every single contestant, and it is ridden in spectacular courses with both big city life and rolling hills and narrow streets in the country side.

We want to show that you can ride in a cycling race in Denmark just like the professionals with focus on service and safety, great courses and blocked off roads. The Time Trial in Elsinore has 780 slots. The Road Race has room for 2,500 riders.
UWCT Copenhagen Gran Fondo is one of 15 qualification events for the official UCI amateur World Championships – the best 25% in each age division can participate in the final in Trento, Italy in September.
